With all that has happened in the last few weeks, we can be pretty certain that Anil Kumble’s days as the head coach are numbered. There have been numerous reports of dressing room unrest, as well as a tiff between Kumble and skipper Kohli just prior to India’s opening Champions Trophy match against Pakistan. While the BCCI have invited applicants for the head coach’s post, one man has made it clear that he will not be the next coach. Shane Warne will definitely not be the next coach of Team India, as he says that the BCCI cannot afford him.

A few weeks ago, the BCCI invited applicants for the head coach of Team India. According to some sources, the Board’s first choice was Virender Sehwag. But the former India opener has declined their offer, which has put the BCCI in a fix.

Many people are not happy with the lack of respect that has been shown towards Anil Kumble. The legendary spinner has had a great track record, as he has overseen a very successful year with the Indian team. Some of Kumble’s former team mates have also been very vocal in their displeasure with the way the BCCI has conducted themselves over the past fortnight.

Due to a lack of appropriate candidates, the BCCI is now looking to hire a foreign coach. While the names of Stuart Law and Tom Moody have been making the rounds, another Aussie’s name was surprisingly thrown into the mix.

Shane Warne was asked about whether he would be interested in taking up the head coach role for team India. While Warne did say that he would have a great partnership with Kohli, he did not think that the BCCI could afford him!
“I am very expensive, I don’t think they can afford me. Virat Kohli and me can have a good partnership, but as I said, I am very, very expensive,” quoted Shane Warne.
