Since laughing at Andy Robertson, Luis Suarez's career has gone downhill

Since Luis Suarez laughed at Andy Robertson, the 32-year-old’s career has not been smooth sailing.

Back in May, Luis Suarez had his say against his former side during the first leg of the Champions League Semifinals. The Uruguayan striker had found the back of the net against Liverpool, but his etiquette has often been brought into consideration.

During the game at Nou Camp, Luis Suarez got into controversy against Andy Robertson by laughing at his after Lionel Messi scored. He was also spotted having a verbal battle with the goalkeeper Alisson Becker.

In the second leg, he got aggrieved and kicked Liverpool’s left-back from the back. The Scottish International was not able to carry on, which forced Jurgen Klopp to include Georginio Wijnaldum for him. The Dutch midfielder came on and scored twice in two minutes to level the score in the second half. Trent Alexander-Arnold picked out unmarked Divock Origi in the middle, which helped the Belgian to score without any pressure.

Following the game, Andy Robertson was asked about the running verbal battle with Luis Suarez on the field.

But, the Scottish International produced a savage reply and said: “Who’s going to finals? That’s all matters.”

Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi, and Gerard Pique said that the whole team felt distressed following the unimaginable exit. Then, the Blaugrana struggled in the Copa Del Rey when they lost to Valencia in the final.

Luis Suarez, who was part of the Uruguyuan national team for the Copa America tournament, missed an all-important spot-kick against Peru in the penalty shoot-out. This disabled them to progress to the Semifinals of the competition. He was in tears after the final whistle and some Liverpool fans could not resist taking a dig.

Suarez will never forget that incident.
