Sir Alex Ferguson was present at Stamford Bridge and talked to three Man Utd players after the FA Cup victory.

Manchester United defeated Chelsea to enter the quarterfinal of the FA Cup last night. Goals from Ander Herrera and Paul Pogba secured United’s berth in the next round of the tournament.

Sir Alex Ferguson was also present in the game. It was Manchester United’s first victory at Stamford Bridge since October 2012, when Ferguson was the manager.

Manchester Evening News (MEN) reports that the former United manager came to the pitch following the victory. He also had a brief chat with three Manchester United players.

Sir Alex talked to Alexis Sanchez, Diogo Dalot and Scott McTominay, who were still on the pitch after the game. While Sanchez and McTominay came on as substitutes late in the game, Diogo Dalot remained on the bench.

After a brief exchange with the trio, he went back inside the stadium and boarded the team coach as he headed back to Manchester.

This was Solskjaer’s 11th win in 13 games under his charge. The Norwegian caretaker manager has only lost one game since joining the club in December last year.

He is the first Manchester United manager since 1985 to win away games at Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea in a single season.

The club faces another big test later this weekend as Solskjaer’s men take on Liverpool in the Premier League. Jurgen Klopp’s side is one of the favourites to win the title this season.

Liverpool is currently level on points with Manchester City but have a game’s advantage. But Klopp’s men have another big test coming before the United game.

The Anfield outfit will host Bayern Munich in the first leg of the Champions League’s round-of-16 later tonight.
