Solari on Cristiano Ronaldo’s comments: The Real Madrid manager spoke about Ronaldo’s comments about the side.
Cristiano Ronaldo spoke in length to Gazzetta Dello Sport about his time at Juventus for the first time since joining the side in the summer. He touched upon various topics, including Lionel Messi and his time at Real Madrid.
His comments on the Barcelona forward kick-started a significant debate on the social media. He challenged Lionel Messi to come to Italy, and stated that he doesn’t miss the Argentine forward.
Ronaldo also insisted that Juventus has the best team spirit, throwing a shade on Real Madrid.
The current Los Blancos manager, Santiago Solari was asked to respond on Ronaldo’s comments, and the Spaniard had a classy reply.
Solari on Cristiano Ronaldo’s comments:
The Portuguese forward stated that ‘some players’ feel bigger than others at other places, hinting at a possible reason for his decision to leave Real Madrid.
“It isn’t right to name someone specific but I can say that this is the best group in which I’ve played,” Ronaldo said.
“Here, we are a squad, elsewhere, some players feel bigger than the others. Instead, here, everyone is on the same level, they are humble and want to win.”
Ronaldo also insisted that he feels a part of a family in Turin. “For me, it is beautiful, to feel that difference. Also at Madrid they are humble, but here I feel that sense more.
“It’s very different to Madrid, here it is more of a family.”
Ronaldo: “Juve are different to everyone else in many ways, even in the way they treat me. Small details make a big difference. However, I prefer to emphasise similarities. Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus are the top teams in their respective countries.” #mufc [CdS]

Interestingly, this is not the first time when Cristiano Ronaldo has openly talked about Real Madrid. Earlier in the season, the forward stated that his differences with Real Madrid’s president Florentino Perez triggered his decision to leave the side.
“I felt it inside the club, especially from the president, that they no longer considered me the same way that they did in the start,” Ronaldo said in October.
Santiago Solari, the newly-appointed Real Madrid boss, meanwhile, has responded to Ronaldo’s comments. He was asked to voice his opinion on Ronaldo’s statements in the pre-match conference for Real Madrid’s final Champions League group stage game against CSKA Moscow.
Solari, however, insisted that Ronaldo is a ‘living part of Real Madrid’s history,’ and that he is entitled to his opinion.
“Humility is a virtue of great players and Real has always been humble in all values of the sport. Cristiano is ours forever, he is a living part of Real Madrid’s history and his feelings can not be judged by anyone, they belong to him,” Solari said.

Solari was appointed as the manager of Real Madrid after the club parted ways with Julen Lopetegui in the wake of a crushing 5-1 defeat in season’s first El Clasico in October.
