Solskjaer has stated that Sir Alex Ferguson is invited to conduct a team talk for the heavyweight clash this weekend against Liverpool.

Manchester United are preparing to face Liverpool in the Premier League this weekend.

The game holds significance for both the sides as Manchester United reached the top four only in the last Premier League game-week.

Liverpool, meanwhile, will climb to the top of the table if they beat their arch-rivals at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the caretaker manager of Manchester United, interacted with the media ahead of the heavyweight clash between the two sides. While he confirmed that Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial could make an appearance in the game, he also had the fans excited with a stunning revelation.

He stated that the former Man Utd boss, Sir Alex Ferguson would be invited to conduct a team talk before the game against Liverpool.

“He [Sir Alex] would be welcome to have his talk to the players if he wanted to, the Gaffer, because we know how much it meant for him to overtake Liverpool,” Solskjaer said.

“I think our players know what it means for everyone at Man United.”

When the Norwegian was appointed the caretaker manager of the side in December, he invited Sir Alex to a training session at Carrington.

Solskjaer did clarify later that while the staff had no plans for Ferguson to speak to players, the former boss can conduct the team talk if he wants to.

The manager insisted that the side learned from their game against PSG, stating that the side needs to take its chances.

“We need to learn from that experience against PSG, because we didn’t perform to the level that we wanted to, even though they should have had 10 men and we should have had 11 when it was quite even.

“We’ve got to make sure we stay focused, all these games are decided on little margins, that little one centimetre Kylian Mbappe was in front of Eric, and he scored instead of Eric, that’s the deciding factor in these big games.”
