Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says that he is already planning for next season at Manchester United.

Manchester United have been flying high since the departure of Jose Mourinho in mid-December. The former Manchester United forward Ole Gunnar Solskjaer along with Mike Phelan decided to take over the club when the Red Devils were in search for options after the defeat to Liverpool at Anfield.

It has been a great start for the Norwegian, winning eight out of eight and thereby maintaining a 100% win record till date. During this short span, they have faced Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal and have come out in flying colours as well.

The renaissance of Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial, and Marcus Rashford are the main reasons for the flourishing right now. Solskjaer said that he likes to play the Manchester United way by attacking and taking the game to the opponent half. They have scored 22 goals and conceded 5 in the process.

Should the Red Devils continue this form, it will be interesting to see if he is handed out the permanent job at Old Trafford. Manchester United also have interest on Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino in the summer window and the reports were that the Argentine heads in the wishlist of Ed Woodward. On the other hand, Zinedine Zidane and Laurent Blanc have also been linked for the hot seat.

However, it is likely to see Manchester United wait till the end of the season to make a call regarding the managerial position. If the current Interim manager manages to finish in a Champions League, there is no doubt that he would also be considered as a strong contender.

In the pre-match press conference, Solskjaer was asked if the young prodigy Mason Greenwood would be handed over a debut under him. The Red Devils manager responded that he would like to put the team in a better position next season.

“We have quite a few talents in that youth team that you’d like to see and will see at some point before next season to put the club and team in a good position at the end of the season, how will we look like next season.”

“Mason (Greenwood), Jimmy Garner, Ethan it’s just about the right time. We’ve got Alexis, Rom, Juan, who haven’t played so much lately, they’re three players you have to jump ahead of as well and they’re quality and we’re here for results as well.” he said.

Soon after, reporters picked up the next season part and asked if he would remain as the Manchester United manager after this season.

“What Manchester United are gonna look like next season with or without me, it doesn’t matter, I’m here to prepare for next season”

The Manchester United boss also confirmed that Chris Smalling has trained following an injury layoff. Whereas, Marouane Fellaini and Marcus Rojo are still on the sidelines.

In the hope of a ninth straight win, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men will take on Burnley at Old Trafford on Tuesday.
