The Indian Coach saga has been going on for sometime now. Anil Kumble’s resignation opened doors for new applicants to be brought into the foray, and ever since, speculation has been sky high, as reports have come in that Virat Kohli wants Shastri and BCCI wants Sehwag to be Kumble’s successor.

The BCCI has kept mum for the most part of the saga, with only the CAC coming forward and commenting on the probable candidates.

Virat Kohli too has made it clear that he would butt in only when asked for.

Sourav Ganguly has been quite vocal about the appointment of the new coach, but hasn’t quite revealed much, keeping things very diplomatic, as his job demands that.

Ganguly now has gone out and said that the interviews for the new coach would be held on July 10 in Mumbai, after which a prompt decision will be taken.

“The interview will be held on July 10 in Mumbai,” Ganguly told reporters.

July 9 is the deadline for applying for the head coach’s job.

The CAC comprises of Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman, and they will be interviewing the prospective candidates in order to select the best possible coach for the country.
