Southampton vs Liverpool: Twitter reactions on Salah winning it for Liverpool vs Southampton and taking them a step closer to the PL title
Mohamed Salah and Jordan Henderson scored in the second half to script a brilliant comeback victory over Southampton at St.Mary’s, winning the game 3-1.
The nerves were jangling when Shane Long had put Southampton in the lead in the first half, but with Keita equalising, parity was restored and Liverpool believed once again.
However, they still needed to score in the second half in order to keep the pressure on at the top of the table, especially in a gameweek where City are off playing the FA Cup.
And thanks to that wonderful counter-attacking goal from Mohamed Salah, Liverpool were once again in the lead right at the end, with Henderson scoring right after to wrap a wonderful night for Liverpool.
It was what the team needed, as they have once again shown the world that they won’t be succumbing to the pressure of a title race. Another week and another comeback win, Liverpool are here to stay.
Fans would be most relieved about Mohamed Salah scoring a goal and ending his 55 day goal drought, as at this stage of the season, they need their top scorer and their lynchpin to be firing on all cylinders. And with Henderson also scoring, Liverpool’s captain too is getting on that scoring sheet during crucial stages of the game.
Twitter went crazy for Salah and Liverpool and it seems like Liverpool this season have it in them to go all the way and win the Premier League title.
This is how twitter reacted:
What a genius move it was from me to make Jordan Henderson Liverpool captain.
