The first ODI of the upcoming West Indies’ tour of Sri Lanka will be played tomorrow at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground in Colombo. West Indies visiting Sri Lanka for three ODIs and two T20Is will provide yet another series for fans to follow in times when the sport is being played across formats.
Sri Lanka, who last played ODIs in Pakistan with a depleted side, will play this series with all their A-list players under the captaincy of regular captain Dimuth Karunaratne.
Having lost that series 0-2, Sri Lanka would be wanting to be back to the winning momentum especially while playing at home.
While Sri Lanka Cricket XI won the first warm-up match before the series, the visitors chased a 277-run target to register victory in the second one. Individual centuries from Darren Bravo and Roston Chase in the warm-up matches will provide West Indies with the much-needed confidence.
