It has to be noted that reliable Indian batsman Cheteshwar Pujara had a successful stint with Nottinghamshire , scoring 223 runs in  matches , including a match – winning hundred against Gloucestershire.

Nottinghamshire is currently at the top spot and they will play Worcestershire starting on September 5. It would be a mouth watering clash between Ashwin and Pujara if they play for their respective teams.

Former Indian pace spearhead Zaheer Khan also played County cricket and represented Worcesetershire . It would be interesting to see if Ashwin can emulate that and prove himself in the English conditions .
