Carlos Alcaraz is currently ranked second and has the world at his feet. The Spaniard has already won the Wimbledon and the US Open at the age of 20. Alcaraz is also the youngest year-end number 1 in tennis history.

The young sensation is quickly becoming the player to beat in men’s tennis. Recently, Alcaraz lost the China Open semi-final to Jannik Sinner, who became one of the few players with a better head-to-head record against the Spaniard. Despite only turning pro in 2018, Carlos Alcaraz already boasts a great head-to-head record against top ATP players including Matteo Berrettini (3-1), Maric Cilic (3-1), Casper Ruud (4-0) and Stefanos Tsitsipas (5-0). However, according to the ATP, there are only a few players who have a better head-to-head record against Carlos Alcaraz.

Carlos Alcaraz vs Felix Auger-Aliassime – (1-3)

Felix Auger-Aliassime has the best record against Carlos Alcaraz. The Canadian star was 3-0 ahead on head-to-head against the Spaniard after his straight sets victory in Basel in 2022. Alcaraz managed to beat Auger-Aliassime at Indian Wells earlier this year to get off the mark.

Carlos Alcaraz vs Mikael Ymer – (0-2)

Ymer enjoyed a stellar 2021 against Alcaraz, beating the Spaniard twice in one year. The standout win came in the Australian Open when Ymer managed to beat Alcaraz in four sets, before beating him again at the semi-final of the Winston-Salem event.

Alcaraz vs Nadal – (1-2)

Rafael Nadal has enjoyed a positive run of results against Alcaraz. The Spanish legend has managed to keep his countryman quiet and defeated him at the Madrid Open Round of 32 match in 2021 and the Indian Wells semifinals in 2022. But Alcaraz bagged his dream win against the 22-time Grand Slam champion in the Madrid Open 2022 quarterfinals.

Alcaraz vs Sinner – (3-4)

Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz has been touted as the rivalry for the future. The Italian winning the semi-final of the China Open has given him the edge in their head-to-head battle. With both players still young and early in their careers, this rivalry promises to be an exciting one.

Carlos Alcaraz vs Alexander Erler – (0-1)

Alexander Erler defeated Carlos Alcaraz in their only-ever encounter. The Austrian defeated the Spaniard at Kitzbuhel in Austria, in three sets. Erler in now ranked 1021 in the world rankings.

Carlos Alcaraz vs Hugo Gaston – (0-1)

Gaston beat Alcaraz at the Paris Masters in 2022. The young Frenchman won the match in straight sets and it is still the only time the duo have meet on a tennis court.

Alcaraz vs Sonego – (0-1)

Lorenzo Sonego won against Carlos Alcaraz at the Cincinnati Masters in 2021. The Italian won in straight sets. The duo are yet to meet again at an ATP event.

While these players have won matches against Alcaraz, most of the victories were when the Spaniard was just starting his career. Now that he is a multiple Grand Slam winner and the World No.2, Alcaraz will be determined to set the record straight when he faces these opponents again.
