“The Tour de France Would Have Gotten Over!” – Novak Djokovic Mocked on Social Media For Taking Long To Serve
Novak Djokovic is no stranger to controversies on the tennis court and once again, in Sunday’s Wimbledon 2023 Final, he managed to be involved in another one. The official broadcaster, BBC Sport put up a surprising stat on the screen during the match. It claimed that Djokovic was taking an incredible 33 seconds on average to complete every serve of his. In comparison, his opponent, Carlos Alcaraz was taking 27 seconds.
Now it can be claimed that both the players were taking long in their serve points. Yet Novak Djokovic is the one to be severely targeted the most on social media as he is notoriously known to tap the ball too many times before completing his serve swing. Interestingly, soon after that, the World No.2 received a time violation from the umpire. While being down 4-5 in the second set, that warning seems to have rattled Djokovic, who lost the second set in a tiebreak.
Fans blast Novak Djokovic, umpiring for long time taken to complete serves
Novak Djokovic did find some support on social media from his ardent followers, yet mostly fans were totally unhappy with him, expressing their shock on Twitter in some ways, direct and other ways, indirect and witty too.
That was a LOUD cheer for that Djokovic time violation, goodness.#Wimbledon

Not saying Djokovic takes his time but Andre Agassi is still down the other end waiting for him to serve.

Novak Djokovic vs Carlos Alcaraz Wimbledon 2023 Final update
At the time of writing this report, the 3rd set had Carlos Alcaraz leading 3-1 while the first two sets were one set a piece to both the players. Alcaraz is aiming for his first Wimbledon title while also becoming the first player since his idol Roger Federer to win it in 6 years, as his opponent, Novak Djokovic has won it on all occasions since 2018. On the other hand, Novak Djokovic is aiming for a record equalling 8th men’s singles title, which will be the same as Federer.
