“That one was for Chadwick Boseman” – Lewis Hamilton pays tribute to Marvel superstar with a Wakanda pose as he passed away on Saturday morning.
Lewis Hamilton gives a huge tribute to Chadwick Boseman who lost his battle against cancer on Saturday. The British driver stood on his car and gave a Wakanda forever pose after fetching pole position in the qualifying round.
“I woke up to the sad news of Chadwick passing away. That news really, really broke me. He was such a shining light. Wakanda Forever. I just wanted to come out today and drive to perfection.” said Lewis Hamilton.
After crossing the line, Hamilton was heard saying “That one was for Chadwick, Chadwick Boseman. Rest In Peace.” A heartfelt tribute by dedicating 93rd pole position of his career to the late actor.
Boseman was an icon for black artists and people around the world, he gained prominence after he starred in Marvel’s first black superhero movie – “The Black Panther”.
The movie was historic as it was probably the first Hollywood megabudget movie—not just about superheroes, but about anyone—to have an African-American director and a predominantly black cast.
Boseman was hailed for imprinting a massive cultural milestone in the world, with black people finding a relatable character in comics and motivated them to participate in the cosplays.
Indeed Boseman’s death at the age of 43 has shredded the hearts of his followers. But his work and tributes pouring in by the likes of Hamilton would make us reminisce of his legacy.
Chadwick Boseman and Lewis Hamilton- believers in diversity
Just like Hamilton, even Boseman till his last breath talked about the struggles of a black man in the world. His speech during the SAG Awards revolutionized the entertainment industry.
During the BLM movement, which hardly sprang 2 months ago, Boseman gave his undivided support to the campaign and constantly voiced his opinions to bring in influence in the cause.
The 43-year-old actor’s death is a huge loss not only to the entertainment industry but to society in general as well, as his craft spoke more than it was ever imagined.
