This was a huge victory for Sindhu as this was a statement to the rest of the badminton world that she was back and hungry for more.

A series of sub par performances post the Rio Olympics made people question Sindhu’s temperament and her ability to perform consistently at a high level.

But she shut everyone up when she became only the second Indian after Saina Nehwal to win the China Open in Fizhou.
