The player will once again be in the reckoning of playing for Sweden
Having sat out of Sweden’s football team for a multitude of years now, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has made a surprise exit to his country’s side. The revelation came to the fore when he was announced in the country’s squad to take on Georgia, Kosovo and Estonia later in March.
Zlatan had first sparked speculation about a return to international football in 2020 when he had revealed that he missed stepping out in his country. A subsequent meeting with Janne Andersson had further fuelled talk of the striker making a dramatic return.

However, it wasn’t till Tuesday that anything fruitful transpired. The 39 year old Swede announced his return to Sweden’s fold in style befitting of his petulant and swashbuckling nature as he took to Twitter to write, “The return of the God.”

Zlatan who is currently plying his skill set for AC Milan is on the injury bed with a muscle injury. While Sweden will be sweating on his fitness ahead of their qualification matches, the side’s coach, Janne Andersson welcomed the striker back eagerly.
“First and foremost, he is a very good football player, the best we have had in Sweden.
“It is of course very funny that he wants to come back,” Janne said on the development.
Zlatan who is currently 39 had thrived in the Serie A ever since joining AC Milan a couple of seasons back. He was in electric touch before getting injured with him top scoring for the club to take them top of the Serie A.
His absence has had a direct impact on AC Milan’s form with the club floundering in touch ever since the Swede has been away from the game. Not only have the table toppers relinquished top spot to Inter Milan but have failed to address the elephant in the room.
Zlatan will meanwhile have his eyes set on an early return from injury as he looks to feature for Sweden this month. The player has stepped out on 116 occasions for his country, a period which saw him find the net on a neat 62 occasions.
