Thiago Alcantara to Liverpool: Bayern Munich chief Karl-Heinze Rummenigge speaks on Liverpool’s chase for Spanish midfielder.
According to the report by the Bild on Friday morning, it was revealed that Liverpool is set to hire Thiago Alcantara, who is allegedly trying to move out from Bayern Munich this summer.
In the further update by the same publication, Karl-Heinze Rummenigge has claimed that Liverpool has made no contact with the German club over this transfer.
“We’ve never had any contact with Liverpool. If he wants to do this, we have to deal with it”. said Rummenigge to Bild. It has been revealed that Thiago is willing to join Liverpool this summer.
“One thing is clear: Thiago (contract until 2021) will go now. The Bayern boss: “We don’t want to lose a player for free next year. I say that very clearly. ”
The 29-year-old has apparently denied extending his contract with Bayern Munich and would be valued at €35 million. That’s why the Reds are ready to invest on the Spaniard despite his age. Even Bayern Munich legend thinks that Thiago is a perfect signing for Liverpool.
The Merseyside club is a dominant force in the European football, but they still need to make reinforcement to continue their glory days and Thiago seems like an appropriate upgrade in midfield.
At the moment, only two midfielders are irreplaceable at Liverpool- Jordan Henderson and Fabinho. The third missing block in Liverpool’s midfield reduces creativity in the team.
Therefore, Thiago definitely brings that missing aspect and can bolster Jurgen Klopp’s squad. However, this news brings uncertainty to Georginho Wijnaldum’s future at the club.
Even though Wijnaldum is near to securing a new contract with Liverpool. Thiago’s arrival will probably shorten his chances minutes even more at the club.

Now it remains to be seen how long does this negotiation goes, Liverpool already missed on Timo Werner this summer due to delay in negotiations and price, it would prefer not to repeat it.
