Top 10 Most Valuable football Squads in Europe

#8) Atletico Madrid (Spain) €873m

Atletico Madrid is the only team in the last decade to overcome both Real Madrid and Barcelona to win the La Liga. In the time since, Diego Simeone has made sure that the club grow from strength to strength and today, they are now the 8th most valuable side in the world.

Atletico witnessed a number of key departures this season such as Antoine Griezmann, Lucas Hernandez, Rodri and Diego Godin. However, the club made sure they bought in appropriate replacements in the squad as well.

Goal keeper Jan Oblak and new signing Joao Felix are the highest valued members of the squad with €100m each. Saul Niguez and Jose Giminez are next on the list with €90m and €70m each. The high value of almost all of their player means that despite only possessing 22 players in their squad Atletico have the 8th most valuable squad in Europe.

#7) Bayern Munich (Germany) €883m

Bayern Munich are currently under their most difficult period at the moment. They have an ageing squad that is in need of a makeover. In fact, the club is currently second in the Bundesliga, a position they’re not familiar with.

The German Champions however, are still a mighty club full of superstars. Unfortunately, it is telling that a team that won the Champions League during Barcelona’s MSN era and Real Madrid’s second Galactico era, features a loanee as their highest valued squad member.

Philip Coutinho’s value of €90m puts him above Thiago, Joshua Kimmich and Lucas Hernandez, all of whom have a value of €70m each. Robert Lewandowsky is close on their heels with €65m and the trio of Niklas Sule, Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry are all valued at €60m each.

Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all.
