Toronto Raptors vs Golden State Warriors – Game 4

A moment of reckoning, a legacy on the line. Will the Warriors go down in the history as the gathering of earths mightiest heroes that only won 60% of the time or will they be among the fair few to rule with an iron fist for over half a decade? The Toronto Raptors are halfway there. 2 wins in the bag and 2 more to go and they can finally have a title. The first NBA title to go outside of the US. Wait, do they have to meet Trump if they win or is it Trudeau? Does Kawhi Leonard leave the team that took down Warriors to play with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander?

A lot of questions to answer, but also a long way to go. Klay Thompson is back in game 4. Kevin Durant may be back game 5 or 6. And the Warriors wont go down this easy. Not with their legacy on the line.

Warriors will be without Kevin Durant and Kevon Looney in the game 4, but Klay Thompson is back after missing his first ever playoff game on Wednesday night and boy did the Warriors miss him. Without Klay Thompson, the Warriors do not have enough scoring as long as Kevin Durant is out, but their defense is the one that fell apart completely without Thompson.

Putting Thompson on Kawhi and having Iguodala defend Siakam and Draymond play his free roaming safety style of defense is what worked wonders for the Warriors in game 2, but without Klay Iguodala had too much to do and Green could not stay away from Siakam leaving VanVleet, Danny Green, Kyle Lowry and Marc Gasol to wreck havoc on offense.

Klay Thompson’s return should allay a few of those issues defensively, but the Warriors will also need Klay to catch fire on offense. Cousins had a poor game 3 after having a great game 2 and he hasn’t shrugged off the rust on offense, at least not with his scoring. The defense will also miss Kevon Looney who has been great at defending switches. All in all, if Kevin Durant is destined to sit this series out, the Warriors need the A-game from every available man.

Players who are in incredible form and pick themselves for game 4-

  1. Kawhi Leonard

  2. Steph Curry
  3. Kyle Lowry
  4. Fred VanVleet
  5. Draymond Green
  6. Danny Green

These players have been on fire this series and each one averages over 2.5 Points per credit for the series. Steph Curry has the highest individual points with 158 over the three games, helped by his mega game 3 performance that earned him 70 points. Kawhi is a hair behind at 151 points although it comes at a higher 23 credit price.

Kyle Lowry has been on fire in this series as long as he has stayed on court having dealt with a lot of foul trouble in game 1 and game 2. Fred VanVleet has 76.6 points with over 3PPC at his 8 Credit price. Draymond Green has been a constant triple double threat and having Thompson back will open up his game on defense that translates very effectively to offense. Danny Green is competing against VanVleet for the steal of the series averaging over 3PPC himself.

With 91 Credits locked up on these 6 players, we have to pick 2 more with 9 Credits. Andrew Bogut is playing a big role with Looney out and Cousins not finding his form, so he is a great pick up at 5 credits, with 4 credits left we have a few options for the filler, we will go with Damian Jones due to Steve Kerr’s merry go round system of playing Centers and Jones being the one variable that hasn’t been tried out yet thus far in the series.

Star Player:

Kawhi Leonard if you are backing Raptors to take a 3-1 lead. Steph Curry if you think the Warriors don’t lose back to back home games against the Raptors.
