Arsenal have completed their first signing of the summer. According to Estonian FA and FC Nomme United, young goalkeeper Karl Jakob Hein has left the club to join Arsenal. The goalkeeper joined the Gunners after a successful trial with the club.

According to reports, the 17-year old goalkeeper has made his name at FC Nomme United and many big clubs were chasing him. Reports suggest that Manchester United was also in the race to sign the wonderkid.

Unai Emery joined Arsenal last week and has already started working on identifying transfer targets. The signing of a goalkeeper is the first of many signings lined up for this summer, according to reports.

The Gunners are close to signing defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos from Borussia Dortmund. Arsenal are also in talks with Juventus to sign Stephan Lichsteiner.

Arsenal’s current goalkeeper, Petr Cech is ageing and struggled in front of goal this season. The former Czech international conceded 51 goals in the Premier League this season, as the North London club finished a disappointing 6th. Arsenal missed out on the Champions League position again this season as they lost to Atletico Madrid in the Europa League semifinal.

Arsenal’s signing of Karl Jakob Hein suggests that Unai Emery is building a team for the future. It is understood that the youngster has signed a one-year scholarly deal with Arsenal. The Estonian has already been pictured at Arsenal’s London Colney training ground.
