Turkey vs Croatia – Modric Stunner seals win
Luka Modric became the first Croatian Player to score in two different European Championships after his stunning volley from 25 yards out sealed Croatia’s victory in their opening group D encounter against turkey.

Croatia firmly dominated the game and despite only scoring once, they never looked like squandering their lead and always looked dangerous in attack, hitting 17 shots to Turkey’s 6.
The Croatian coach , Ante Cacic claimed his team were much more than star midfielders Modric and Rakitic, and Croatia showed just that dominating throughout the first half and creating numerous chances.
They went ahead in the 40th minute with Modric’s moment of magic ,a fierce volley after the ball had been cleared following an Ivan Rakitic cross, an unstoppable volley and the celebratory period continues for the man who won the Champions League 2 weeks ago.
Turkey offered no help to themselves in the second half, and Croatia were unfortunate not to have doubled their advantage , as captain Srna hit the bar with a free kick. It was Srna again moments later who missed a glorious chance pulling wide from 6 yards out.
Croatia were denied by the frame of the goal again when Pericic header glanced off the bar from Mandzukic’s delivery.
With this result , Croatia has now put pressure on the fragile looking defending champions Spain who play Czech Republic on Monday.
