Jasprit Bumrah once again proved that he is the best T20 bowler India has right now(Bhuvi is a close second). Because death bowling is as much about the mental aspect as it is about the skills of the bowler. Almost everyone at the top has the same kind of skill set, but it is the mental aspect that separates the good from the great.
Bumrah had 11 to defend in the super over, with McCullum and Finch ready to hunt him down. The over began with an unforgiving ‘no ball’, followed up by a slower ball gone horribly wrong(a wide ball), and it looked as if the mental strength might not have made an appearance tonight.
It seemed as if he was under pressure, the sheepish smile he sported was a testimony to that. But inside the cricketing mills were churning. And with that smile, he went back to his run up, sorted his thoughts out, and delivered four of the most lethal deliveries to end the game and the playoff dreams for the Lions.
This is how Twitter reacted to the nerve wracking, see- saw super over:
Boom Boom Bumrah….haven't seen a better Super Over. #IPL #GLvMI

Bumrah bowling the Super Over ahead of Malinga. That's #IPL coming of age…baton has been passed on officially. Performance over reputation

Bumrah's over had a no-ball, a leg-bye, a wide & a bye. But more importantly only 2 runs came off the bat in the #SuperOver.
Superb!#GLvMI— Rajneesh Gupta (@rgcricket) April 29, 2017
Basil's 19th over brought the game to the Super Over. Bumrah won the Super Over for #MI. Indian cricket is the Winner

#Bumrah Their is something special in the guy if he even stops two most attacking batsmen of T20 to even touch the ball at the age of 23 ☺☺

A triumph for imagination and he did it without a wand, cape or top hat. #Bumrah
