Twitter finds faults with Rishabh Pant after his 'casual' dismissal off Jason Holder in Jamaica Test

Twitter finds faults with Rishabh Pant: Twitter poured severe criticism on the Indian wicket-keeper batsman for playing an irresponsible shot.

During the second day of the second Test of the ongoing India’s tour of West Indies in Jamaica, India wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant once again became victim of playing a casual shot to walk back to the pavilion after getting to a start.

It happened on the first ball of the second day when Pant was found wanting against a West Indies captain Jason Holder’s in-swinging delivery. In a bid to drive the ball, Pant missed the line of the delivery. In what appeared to be a neither here nor there shot, the 21-year old batsman didn’t provide the best of starts to the visitors.

Coming in to bat at No. 7 in the 73rd over yesterday, Pant played well to survive the day in the last session. A 62-run partnership for the sixth wicket alongside Hanuma Vihari saw India ending the first day at 264/5. While India needed the pair to bat in the same manner, Pant ended up scoring 27 (65) with the help of two fours and a six.

After Holder won the toss and put India in to bat, the visiting team was aided by individual half-centuries from captain Virat Kohli (76) and opening batsman Mayank Agarwal (55). As far as Pant is concerned, he was criticized in a similar manner after his dismissals in the second and third ODI respectively.
