Lewis Hamilton was hoping to put his Silverstone frustration to bed in Hockenheim today by securing a pole position, but all his hopes went down the drain, as the Brit had to bow out of qualifying because of a hydraulic issue.
Hamilton did run a little wide, triggering an issue with the car, and ultimately a hydraulic issue meant that Hamilton couldn’t take his car back to the pit lane.
Hamilton was asked to stop from the Mercedes team because there was a ‘PU’ risk.
The Mercedes main man was still trying to push his car into the pit lane, or as far as possible and the marshals came to his aid, but in the end, he just had to give up, because there was no way he could get his Mercedes back to the pits.
Lewis was visibly distraught after what had transpired on the race track, kneeling around his car and venting out his frustration.
This is how twitter reacted:

Hydraulic problem for Hamilton. Team tells him it’s a “PU risk” and “switch it off electrically”

When Mercedes told Hamilton to keep pushing I didn’t think they meant literally push the car 🤣🤣 #GermanGP pic.twitter.com/9BzSkBYsvC

Hamilton first said he had a suspension issue, then mentioned the gearbox, and was then told to stop, stop, stop

Fuck off Crofty trying to blame Lewis Hamilton for a mechanical problem. Typical nonsense from him. Well Vettel looks like you’ve got the luck of 2010 and 2012 on your side again

Mercedes tells Hamilton there’s been a “loss of hydraulic”. He wanted to push it back but team said no. He’s out! #F1 #GermanGP

If anyone actually thinks Lewis Hamilton was responsible for that hydraulic issue then you’re a fool. A gearbox doesn’t break with an impact like that. Rosberg just have a cheeky little dig.
