Twitter reacts as Lacazette scores a stellar solo goal in Arsenal’s 2-1 victory.
Arsenal bounced back from Manchester United loss to edge relegation contenders Cardiff City with a 2-1 victory in the Premier League. The hosts created chances, but could not take it in the first half. They were controversially denied a penalty when Alexandre Lacazette was brought down inside the penalty box just moments before the half time whistle.
However, the Gunners received a penalty in the second half which was calmly converted by their talisman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to lead the game for the first time. Arsenal’s number 9 Alexandre Lacazette incredible solo run to beat four defenders in the 83rd minute gave them a two-goal cushion. Cardiff City pulled one back through Nathaniel Mendez-Liang, but that was not enough to make a comeback.
With this victory, Unai Emery’s men are level on points with fourth-placed Chelsea to push for Champions League football next season.
Here is how Twitter reacted to the game.

Aubameyang puts up ridiculous numbers but if we get proper wingers I’d rather start them either side of Lacazette and bench Aubameyang.

Arsenal defeated Cardiff City at the Emirates Stadium, where Arsenal’s tribute to missing Sala was class.

Aubameyang now up to 15 goals & 4 assists in league. He flat-out doesn’t get the respect he deserves for just being a damn good attacker.

Name a better love story than Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. pic.twitter.com/sUulQ1Dqff

Great to see Lacazette and Aubameyang both getting on the scoresheet.
Not a great performance overall but improved once the first goal went in. Suarez and a winger would definitely improve this side.
