Arsenal couldn’t get the start they wanted as defending champions Manchester City eased past the London club with a 2-0 victory.
Unai Emery’s new-age Arsenal failed to stop the high-flying Manchester City side in their first game of the season. It seemed like Pep Guardiola’s side has taken off from where they left the last season, as they dominated Arsenal throughout the game.
An early run of attacks saw Raheem Sterling finally finding ample of space as he ran past their newest signing Mateo Guendouzi and Bellerin to take a shot from outside the box. Petr Cech was too slow to react as City led the game 1-0. None of the Arsenal players were able to make an impact throughout the match.
Bernardo Silva doubled the City lead in the second half, and Arsenal were unable to open the goal-scoring. At the end of the first match-week, Liverpool top the Premier League table with a whopping 4-0 victory over West Ham United, while Chelsea are second after a convincing 3-0 win over Huddersfield.

Arsenal playing reminds me of when I used to draw when I was young. You can see what you want to create perfectly in your head but the actual result doesn’t come close.

The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn’t exist. His second-best was convincing someone at Arsenal to give Mesut Ozil £350,000 a week.

Tough job for Unai Emery. As we saw post Sir Alex at Manchester United, when a coach has been as dominant at a club for so long it’s difficult to impose a different style/mentality. Takes time, which is something coaches are rarely given these days.
