The rivalry between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor is an old tale in the UFC community. The two met inside the cage at UFC 229 in 2018. In the fight, Nurmagomedov got the best of McGregor.

In the fourth round of the bout, ‘The Eagle’ submitted ‘The Notorious’ via a neck crank. Although it has been over four years since the fight now, fans still tend to remember bits from their rivalry. In fact, a fan recently posted an old tweet of McGregor taking brutal jibes at the Russian former lightweight champion.

Conor McGregor labeled Khabib Nurmagomedov ‘homophobic’

‘The Notorious’ is famous for being a troll on social media. The former lightweight champion, when he is not fighting, takes a shot at anyone and everyone on his Twitter account. Similarly, McGregor didn’t leave a stone unturned in mocking Nurmagomedov in the lead-up to their fight.

And even years after the fight, the Irish UFC superstar occasionally takes a shot at the Russian. In 2021, a Twitter user accused McGregor of cheating in the bout with Nurmagomedov. The fan stated that McGregor hit ‘The Eagle’ with a knee while he was grounded and also caught his shorts and fence multiple times.

However, the fan’s comments didn’t sit well with McGregor and he quickly responded with a brutal verbal jab at Nurmagomedov. “I wasn’t holding his shorts! I was ramming my fingers up his homophobic a**, And just look at this happy face here. He loves it. He’s a fingers in the booty a** b*****,” McGregor wrote.

He further posted a few more tweets mocking Nurmagomedov and his friends. However, the Irishman later deleted them. Now, this has come to light after a fan posted an old tweet following McGregor’s raunchy online activity.

McGregor and Nurmagomedov now

After defeating McGregor, Nurmagomedov competed two more times in the UFC. Later, he hung up his gloves forever in 2020 and started his journey as a coach. ‘The Eagle’ used to train his friends and teammates for their MMA careers. However, according to many recent reports, Nurmagomedov has left all aspects of MMA.

Meanwhile, McGregor is still in the competition. However, he hasn’t competed for almost two years now after he suffered a leg injury in 2021. But he has fully recovered and we might see him back in action, hopefully, in the fourth quarter of the year.

Who do you guys think McGregor will face on his return? What are your thoughts on McGregor’s tweet?
