The fan favorite, Nate Diaz, is finally a free agent after a lot of complications with the UFC. Initially, the Stockton slugger was asking for his last UFC fight for a long time. The promotion set him up with Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 279.
However, the fight never came to fruition, as Chimaev failed to make weight. Thus, Diaz fought against another UFC veteran, Tony Ferguson. Fortunately, Diaz won the fight and also put on a stunning performance for the fans. He received the farewell that he deserved and respectfully left the UFC. However, the fan-favorite still has a window open for a UFC return only to fight Conor McGregor for the third time.
What did the manager say about Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor?
The Stockton slugger Nate Diaz has had a wonderful career in the UFC despite not winning a title. His tale will be told by many UFC pundits for years to come. One of the most intriguing aspects of his career was his rivalry with the Irish MMA star Conor McGregor, which might see a third clash.
Diaz’s manager, Zach Rosenfield, recently told MMA Junkie about a possible trilogy. He said, “Nate is going to be looking at the biggest fights possible. He has stated that completing the trilogy with Conor McGregor is something that interests him, and that has not changed.”

Further on he also added that fans will see more of Nate Diaz in 2023, which includes a boxing crossover too. That said, given the intensity of their last two bouts, it is sure that the third fight will generate fireworks if it comes to fruition.
Jake Paul called out Diaz for a boxing match
Ever since Diaz departed from the UFC, the YouTuber turned professional boxer Jake Paul has had his eyes glued on him. Diaz perfectly fits into Paul’s opponent criteria.

The Stockton slugger is a prominent name in the combat world and has no ties with the UFC now. Thus, Paul is campaigning for a fight with him. However, Diaz, despite hinting at a boxing crossover, hasn’t responded to Paul’s call out.
What do you think Diaz will do next after becoming a free agent? Will a boxing match with Paul be the right option?
