Conor McGregor rescues an Irish gym out of financial trouble; Owner acknowledges the support

Conor McGregor saves a native gym from going out of operation. The owner of the gym is overwhelmed by the generous act of the Notorious one.

The global pandemic took a financial toll on every field in 2020. People losing their jobs as a part of a mass layoff, and shut-down of various business entities became a common sight. While it has been an incessant story throughout the year, there are still some rare cases where apparently the fortune has favored the victim.

To circle out one of them, there is a gym in Ireland by the name of SBG Portarlington, which was seemingly in a dire situation and was about to close down, but ultimately survived in the end.  In a dramatic scenario, it turns out it was none other than Conor McGregor who rescued the gym and steered it to stay afloat.

The owner of the gym Philip Mulpeter revealed what Conor McGregor told him

In a chat with ESPN Philip said, “I didn’t know what to say to him, to be honest. I’m forever grateful to him. He basically saved our little community. Words can’t express what he’s done for us.

“I know that he gets bad press. People don’t report on it, but he does this stuff all the time. Conor is not looking for gratitude, he’s not looking for the media to spread this around.”

“He was just like, ‘You’re doing a f—ing amazing job, you’ve created an amazing community at the gym,’” Mulpeter said. “And he’d seen all the support online from all the parents and kids. It’s like Santa coming early for us.”

This isn’t the first time that Conor McGregor has come in support of the needy, as earlier this year the notorious one raised $100,000 in support of a Covid-19 fund.

Moreover, the Irishman has vowed to endorse the charity of his opponent to be Dustin Poirier. Conor McGregor is set to pay half a million to Poirier’s The Good Fight Foundation.
