Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler

Conor McGregor is set to return to action later this year. After having been away from the octagon for nearly two years, his return is being highly anticipated by UFC fans around the world. He was last seen in action back in July 2021 in a trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier, where he suffered a nasty leg injury. He suffered two back-to-back losses in 2021. Since then, ‘The Notorious’ has been working hard to get back to his best. Earlier this year, it was announced that McGregor will return to face Michael Chandler. But before that, the two went up against each other as coaches in the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter.

Interestingly, they have finished shooting, and the season will air by the end of May 2023. However, there are still a few things that are causing people to doubt the fight.

Chael Sonnen doubts that Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler will happen

Despite being announced by Dana White and both fighters confirming their fight on multiple occasions, UFC legend Chael Sonnen is skeptical about the mega-fight actually happening. In a recently uploaded YouTube video on his channel, Chael Sonnen spoke about Conor McGregor’s return to the octagon.

While suggesting that the fight might not happen, the UFC legend said, “We know nothing, we know nothing. There’s no match, there’s no way against Chandler, there’s no 155 pounds or 170 pounds, there’s no training camp at Big Bear, they’re in the middle of, nothing that we’ve been told is accurate.”

Chael Sonnen is certainly raising the right questions here. It has been over three months since Dana White announced the fight, but nothing seems certain at the moment and a date and weight class for the fight is yet to be confirmed.

McGregor gives his thoughts on Jake Paul vs. Nate Diaz

Social media star turned boxer Jake Paul is set to take on former UFC superstar Nate Diaz on August 5th. While speaking about the same, Diaz’s former rival Conor McGregor seemed to have a rather interesting take. McGregor suggested that Nate Diaz would dominantly beat Jake Paul in their scheduled boxing matchup.

Moreover, ‘The Notorious’ believes that it will be the perfect layup to a trilogy matchup between him and Diaz inside the octagon. Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz have fought with each other twice.

Interestingly, Nate Diaz was the first fighter to beat McGregor inside the octagon. However, ‘The Notorious’ beat Diaz in their rematch. Since then, there has been a lot of anticipation surrounding a potential trilogy between the two. It will be interesting to see if it happens in the near future.

Do you guys think the trilogy will happen? What are your thoughts on Sonnen’s words?
