Khamzat Chimaev Vs. Leon Edwards is still seemingly a desired fight. So, will UFC rebook it once again?
After Khamzat Chimaev’s departure from the January 20 card, which canceled the targeted bout against Leon Edwards for the second time in a span of a month, a popular belief surfaced that now UFC would move on from the fight and will find a replacement for the vacant main event spot. And with Leon Edwards demanding to stay put, the chances of that happening were extensive.
However, on the day before new year’s eve, Leon Edwards was taken out from the card too. With it, Michael Chiesa Vs. Neil Magny, which was initially set as the co-main event is now the official headliner of the concerned event.
Now, the decision to take Edwards off from the card has sparked a query which why would UFC hold him from competing? when he has expressed he is eager to get back after 17 months.

Will Khamzat Chimaev Vs. Leon Edwards Get Scheduled Again
More than 24 hours have been passed and yet there is no specific answer from UFC’s part as to why Edwards is not part of the main event anymore. There is no report about an injury, no misfortune has apparently taken place. So, why Rocky isn’t competing on January 20?
Though, there is no particular answer as to why instead of finding a replacement for Khamzat, the UFC curtailed the match card but, according to conjectures the matchmakers are seemingly protecting the Welterweight fight.

Despite a couple of scrappings, the match is still much-anticipated and maybe in light of that, the decision-makers have forced Edwards to pullout, to keep him reserved for Khamzat.
Khamzat Chimaev withdrew from the contest on account of Covid-19 complications, however, he is on the verge of a full recovery. Therefore, it is probable that, Khamzat Chimaev Vs. Leon Edwards, ostensibly get a new scheduled date and position. Who knows maybe a co-main event slot of a Pay-Per-View.
