Michael Chandler Vs. Dan Hooker: Early Odds Give Hooker The Favorite's Tag

On Sunday, January 3, the speculated Michael Chandler Vs. Dan Hooker’s booking finally received its due date. The fight is part of the month’s Pay-Per-View event UFC 257 and will co-headline alongside Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier.

The match-up is on many grounds much-anticipated but, the primary sighter would apparently be Michael Chandler’s debut in UFC. The former Bellator Lightweight champion strikingly made his way to the leading MMA promotion in September and straightaway offered himself to become the reserve for the Khabib Nurmagomedov Vs. Justin Gaethje fight. He picked Tony Ferguson as the desired opponent to make his debut against, however,  the contest with El Cucuy could not materialize.

Now after months of the lookout, the Iron is eventually a part of a card, and there couldn’t have been a better occasion than UFC 257 to set the action rolling. He will be up against the No.6 of UFC Lightweight Dan Hooker.

The Hangman has risen through the ranks in the recent past and will be eager to get back in the ring after a slugfest with Dustin Poirier, which took place in May 2020.

Michael Chandler Vs. Dan Hooker: Who Will Start as the favorite?

Both Michael Chandler and Dan Hooker are complete MMA professionals i.e., they carry supreme striking ability and the know-how of dominating on the ground, and considering the overall MMA record of both individuals, it is quite evident that there’s not much separating the two. However, presumable because Hooker is competing at the level of UFC for more than half a decade now, and Chandler on the other hand will have some nerves to control, therefore the early odds favor The Hangman.

While odds can become a factor of psychological advantage but, as soon the 8-sided figure closes odds hold little to no value. And in this match as well there’s going to be little impact as the fight is expectedly going to be a closely contested affair.

So, it is almost impossible to figure out who will start as the favorite but, in this endless phenomena where one wins and the other loses, the enthusiasts always turn out to be the constant victors.
