Conor McGregor, Floyd Mayweather and Sean O'Malley

UFC 288 was a night to remember for Sean O’Malley, who stepped into the ring to promote his upcoming fight against the bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling. With Sterling’s recent victory over Henry Cejudo, O’Malley became the only true challenger left in the division. Thus, it made sense for him to seize the moment and start building hype for the highly anticipated showdown. However, there was another fight on Sean O’Malley’s mind, and it has something to do with the Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather fight.

During the face-off, Merab Dvalishvili made an appearance and playfully took O’Malley’s jacket, but it turns out that he wasn’t the fighter that O’Malley was targeting. The rising star has his sights set on a different opponent, one that he feels would make for an exciting and competitive bout.

Only time will tell who O’Malley will face next, but there’s no denying that he’s one of the most electrifying fighters in the sport today.

Since making his UFC debut in Dana White’s contender series, O’Malley has amassed a record of 8-1-1, solidifying himself as a force to be reckoned with in the bantamweight division.

His flashy fighting style and charismatic personality have made him a fan favorite, and his upcoming fight against Sterling is sure to draw a lot of attention.

Whether or not O’Malley gets the fight he wants remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure – he’s not afraid to go after what he wants and will continue to make waves in the UFC.

O’Malley wants to have Conor McGregor Vs Floyd Mayweather style fight

In a recent interview with GQ, Sean O’Malley revealed 10 things that he can’t live without, including his gloves. When asked about boxing, he expressed his satisfaction with the trend of influencers settling their disputes in the ring. O’Malley believes that it’s a positive development for the sport, saying “it’s good for the sport of boxing, it’s good for the culture.”

O’Malley said,

If I ever do do a boxing match, I think it will be similar to like when Conor fought Floyd. When it’s the PPV king in the UFC versus another PPV king in boxing. Ryan Garcia, Gervonta Davis those are the two guys that I can see myself potentially boxing in 5-6 years time.

Taking inspiration from the likes of Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather, O’Malley also sees himself as a future boxing contender. He envisions himself going up against top fighters like Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia in the next five to six years, much like McGregor and Mayweather did with their highly successful PPV fight.

O’Malley’s aspirations show his confidence and ambition, and it will be interesting to see if he can make a name for himself in both MMA and boxing.

O’Malley backs himself

Sean O’Malley is confident that he can defeat top boxing contenders Gervonta Davis or Ryan Garcia in the future. Despite acknowledging that it will be a challenging fight, O’Malley believes that he possesses the necessary skillset to come out on top.

O’Malley’s confidence shows his belief in his abilities, and it will be exciting to see if he can live up to his own expectations.

He said,

I truly believe that I can beat one of those guys. It would be a very difficult challenge.

Moreover, O’Malley points out that MMA is a more challenging sport than boxing. He notes that while many MMA fighters have transitioned into boxing, we don’t see the same happening in reverse. O’Malley’s observation highlights the difficulty of the MMA discipline and shows the level of respect he has for the sport.

It also demonstrates his willingness to take on challenges, as he is considering a move to boxing, despite acknowledging its difficulty.
