Ever Banega to Arsenal

Arsenal manager Unai Emery is not going to stop from squad overhaul. The damage done by Arsene Wenger over the last three years by buying some players are being sold by the enigmatic Spaniard who strives hard for success.

Argentine International Ever Banega is on Unai Emery’s shortlist as Aaron Ramsey’s replacement in the winter transfer window, according to Argentina journalist Roberto Martinez.

Having already played under Emery at Valencia and Sevilla, the midfielder is looking to follow his coach to London in the upcoming month.

The amount that would take to land the 30-year-old would be as low as 18 million Pounds from Seville.

For someone who would give solid three years and has much in his locker left, the Gunners must be all over him to wrap the deal up swiftly.

It is also understood that former Chief Executive of Arsenal Ivan Gazidis travelled to the Spanish counterpart Seville and tried to convince the former Valencia star.

But, the deal did not go through as the player wanted to stay put at Sevilla beyond the summer transfer window.

With Ozil being in and out of the team, an experienced player who knows Emery in and out would be a perfect match for Arsenal at the moment.

Arsenal have enough players to shield the defence, but there are not many players in the squad who are as versatile as Ever Banega.

The Argentine has the capability to sit back with the defence and act as an attacking midfielder when his team requires him to do that.

Unai Emery bought him at Valencia and Sevilla to bolster his midfielder department. Arsenal are requiring someone to control the game in the middle of the park, and Ever Banega would suit the role.

There are not many people who are at controlling the game like the Argentine. He is at heart of the midfield for Sevilla who are currently second in the La Liga table.

It would be a welcome addition for the Gunners who aim to finish in the top four for the first time in three years.

Arsenal will play Brighton and Hove Albion away from home on boxing day as they go in search for a second consecutive victory.
