Valorant All Agents and Their Country of Origin; Know Your Character

Valorant has a diversified agent pool. There are agents with different nationalities, accents, and countries of origin. However, all of them synergize really well and make one big weird family. That is why, today we will be looking at all the agents in the game so far and seeing their country of origin. In addition, we will also delve deep into the relative past and see the patch in which they made their way into the game.

Valorant Agents, Their Country of Origin, and Their Patch Release!

In the four different ability classes in the game, every agent has a separate archetype and purpose. No two agents serve the same purpose, every agent’s ability list is varied and is made to diversify approaches to gameplay. Without further ado, let us look at the agents that started it all.

Beta Agents

  • Brimstone: Hailing from the United States of America, Brimstone is a controller. He was present in the beta alongside other popular agents.
  • Viper: Also from the United States, Viper is also a controller. Her support utility and post-plant capability are off the charts. She was present in the beta.
  • Omen: His origin is unknown. Omen’s shrouded in mystery as he is a peak controller. His smokes and paranoia is meant to cause fear in the hearts of enemies. He was also a part of the beta test.
  • Cypher: Hailing from Morocco, Cypher is a sentinel and an information gatherer. His trips are great for covering flanks and site entries while his cam is invaluable for post-plant information. He was also a part of the beta release.
  • Sova: Hailing from Russia, Sova should be everyone’s first agent. He is easy to use and takes great effort to master. He was present in the beta as the primary initiator.
  • Jett: The first duelist that anyone learns is Jett. This aggressive duelist hails from Korea and has one object, to make the enemies miss their shots while she takes aggressive angles and eliminates them.
  • Phoenix: The cocky duelist from the United Kingdom, Phoenix lights up the battlefield with his fire-based utility and aggressive playing style. Both Jett and Phoenix were a part of the beta.
  • Sage: Sage is the glue that holds the team together. A sentinel who heals and protects her teammates and is liked by everyone. She is from China.
  • Raze: Hailing from Brazil, Raze and her explosive personality(and abilities) made her one of the most fun duelists to play.
  • Breach: A Swedish initiator, Breach is best when he is supporting the team with his utility, stuns, and flashes. One of the most useful agents for team play.

After Beta

  • Reyna: Reyna was the first duelist introduced in the game in Patch 1.0. Her abilities are meant to create space for the team and her kit is entirely for self-sufficient fraggers. She hails from Mexico.
  • Killjoy: A sentinel hailing from Germany, Killjoy came into the game in patch 1.05. She is meant to hold sites and control the battlefield with her tech.
  • Skye: The Australian initiator quickly made herself known in the Valorant world through her controllable flashes and information-seeking utility. She came to light in patch 1.11.
  • Yoru: The dimension-drifting duelist has a lone wolf persona and made his way into the game during patch 2.0. With his unique teleports and even grander attitude, Yoru is best for people who prefer to be unpredictable in their approach.
  • Astra: The astral guardian and controller from Ghana helps take control of the battlefield with her purple smoke. She hails from Ghana and was a key part of patch 2.04.
  • Kayo: This robot is from an alternate timeline in which Reyna goes berserk and destroys the world. His suppressing and initiator utility is simple but effective. He came out on patch 3.0.
  • Chamber: The French sentinel was way too overpowered at one point in the game. His ultimate ability combined with his teleport and headhunter is perfect for anyone who can aim well. He came into the game in patch 3.10.

Recent Patches

  • Neon: Patch 4.0 marked the introduction of this fast-paced duelist in Valorant. Her running combined with quick launch abilities makes her a feared duelist. She hails from the Philippines.
  • Fade: Straight out of Turkey, Fade’s initiating abilities are second to none. Her prowlers offer the same use as Omen’s paranoia and her ultimate is integral for site hits. She came out in patch 4.08.
  • Harbor: The Indian controller uses water to make the battlefield his playground. Coming out in patch 5.08, Harbor utility still remains an integral part of pro-play.
  • Gekko: Hailing from the United States, Gekko has lots of companions to help him clear the battlefield and take the fight to the enemy. He came out in the recent patch 6.04 fulfilling the role of an initiator.
