Its more than a month and half and Shanks has not been unbanned on Twitch. Despite carious attempts its still not clear why he was banned or will it be lifted.
The policy of Twitch for handing out bans is very strange and one that is baffling not just to streamers but also to fans. The Dr. Disrespect ban still has not been explained yet. It was a big loss for the Twitch community. Dr. Disrespect though has switched to YouTube and his stream pulls hundreds of thousands of viewers. One such inexplicable ban is Valorant Pro Shanks.
Why was Shanks banned?
Officially no one knows about the actual reason of the ban. Initially he was banned only for two weeks but its nearly 45 days and the ban is not yet lifted. His teammate Clix was also banned but his ban has since been lifted. Which makes the whole thing even stranger. Fan theories are swirling as to the reason of the ban.
Shanks used to raid female streamers and make jokes while streaming. One streamer disliked it and reported Shanks. Another reason is that although Shanks did not sometimes his chat crossed the line and took the jokes too far. This is all just theories at this point and it still unclear.
Social media reacts and a change.org petition –
Shanks is now streaming on YouTube after getting banned. His fans have started a hashtag called ‘#freeshanks. There is also a change.org petition going around which was made quite a while ago.
It lists out the incident and the reason why he could have been banned. About 100 people have signed it and the goal is to reach 200. Only Twitch knows if he will be unbanned ever again. The impact of the petitions and hashtags is still felt by Twitch as they haven’t budged.
