Video footage of Man Utd fans abusing Jesse Lingard after the FA Cup win over Derby County on Thursday night goes viral.
Manchester United completed a 3-0 victory over Derby to cement their place in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup. However, the victory was soured after one of their players, Jesse Lingard, was subjected to a torrent of abuse as he boarded the team bus.
The shocking footage shows a couple of fans screaming expletives at the United midfielder. Some twitter users even claimed that the disgruntled fans (if you can even call them that) can be heard shouting racist abuses near the end of the very video.

A few Manchester United fans were abusing Jesse Lingard after yesterday’s game against Derby County. This video is quite awful to watch in all honesty.
What are your thoughts on it? 🤔🤮 pic.twitter.com/RSgxrVuV1e

I’ve deleted that video of a fan abusing Jesse Lingard at the team coach, because I’m not giving them attention. If you have nothing nice to say, just don’t say anything. Footballers are human too and taking things to a players face is bang out of order. It’s not funny.

One fan can be heard repeatedly shouting ‘F*** off, Jesse, you’re s***!’ as he walks past.
Another can then be heard criticising his lack of goal contributions last year, screaming:
“Zero goals and zero assists in 2019, you’re dead.”
While it is acceptable to criticize a footballer for his failure to perform on the pitch, what happened on Thursday night crossed a line. So much so that Lingard’s teammate Luke Shaw, appeared by the bus door to furiously remonstrate with the fans after hearing the expletives and insults as they left Pride Park.
