Vince McMahon has reportedly given up on three WWE Superstars

Vince McMahon has reportedly given up on three WWE Superstars. The trio will no longer be the focus of company’s plans moving forward.

Apollo Crews’ victory over Andrade was a genuine surprise to many. The win allowed him to become the United States Champion. Which in turn, has given hope to many that the WWE may finally give opportunities to its underutilised performers.

However, according to Wrestling observer’s Dave Meltzer, there are three superstars who will no longer feature in WWE’s plans in the foreseeable future. According to him, the WWE attempted to push them higher in the card. However, their poor handling of AJ Styles’ heel turn will now have major ramifications in their careers.

“AJ was there to make new babyfaces, that was what he was there for,” Meltzer said of Styles’ stay at Raw. “How many new babyfaces did he make? None. He didn’t even lose on the way out. Well, he lost to The Undertaker but that didn’t but that does nobody any good.”

Meltzer then noted that there were plans to use the United States Championship to elevate Cedric Alexander, Humberto Carrillo, and Ricochet. However, all plans were eventually scrapped.

“My point is that every one of these guys from Ricochet to Cedric Alexander to Humberto Carrillo. Every single one of them was supposed to be in a big feud with AJ where they would get over and they would win the title and not one of them did.”

It is unclear what the reason was behind the decision to give up on the trio. However, it is possible that they were only given a push in the first place because of Paul Heyman’s support for them. In the end however, the final decision lies with Vince and he has decided not to focus on them anymore.

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
