Virat Kohli or Sachin Tendulkar or MS Dhoni: The three legendary Indian cricketers occupy top positions when it comes to social media following.

In an ideal world, fan-following should never be a measure to judge how well a specific cricketer has done. However, the world we are living in is nowhere near to an ideal one and hence comparisons are bound to happen on the basis of more followers, likes and comments on the social media handles of these cricketers.

Considering the influence of social media on people these days, ignoring the same is nothing less than any daunting task. Therefore, let us see who among the Indian cricketers tops the list when it comes to social media fan-following.

Kohli or Sachin Tendulkar or MS Dhoni

It is worth mentioning that India captain Virat Kohli, Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar and veteran wicket-keeper batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni occupy the top three positions among Indian cricketers with most followings across online platforms.

With 31 million, 39.3 million and 37 million followers on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook respectively, Kohli comprises of the maximum fan-following among Indian cricketers. Tendulkar occupies the second position with 30.1 million, 16.6 million or 28 million followers on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook respectively.

Dhoni, who isn’t as active as other cricketers on social media, is on the third position with 7.7 million, 15.5 million and 20 million followers on the three social media platforms.

Among other Indian cricketers who rule the social media are limited-overs vice-captain Rohit Sharma, axed batsman Suresh Raina, recently retired Yuvraj Singh and veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh.

Sharma has 14.7 million followers on Twitter, 10.5 million on Instagram and 11 million on Facebook. Raina, who last played for India during the tour of England last year, has 16.7 million followers on Twitter, nine million on Instagram and 3.1 million on Facebook.

Speaking of the Punjab duo, Yuvraj has 4.7 million followers on Twitter, 7.5 million on Instagram and 14.4 million on Facebook. On the contrary, Harbhajan has 10 million followers on Twitter, 3.6 million on Instagram and 6.6 million on Facebook.
