Was the IPL 2019 Final fixed? CSK fans believe MI vs CSK final was scripted and fixed as Dhoni and Watson’s run out was untimely

The MI vs CSK IPL 2019 Final attracted massive eyeballs all across the world, with Hotstar recording 18.6 million concurrent viewers on the platform, the highest for a live streaming platform in the world.

While the match provided edge of the seat entertainment to a large part of the cricketing fraternity, a good chunk of CSK fans felt that the final was scripted and fixed.

The MS Dhoni run-out was the first major talking point of the game, as the mid wicket angle provided no conclusive evidence and the front on angle showed that Dhoni was short of his crease.

The third umpire took a lot of time in making his decision and ultimately ruled it in the favour of the bowling team. The bails too were apparently not clearly dislodged, and that frame wasn’t quite made available to the 3rd umpire.

A major talking point in the game was forgotten for a while, as Shane Watson was leading his team to a second straight IPL win, but a mix up with Ravindra Jadeja in the last over meant that Watson was short of his ground and CSK still needed 4 to get over the line.

CSK fans were furious at the broadcaster for not showing the non-striker end of the situation. No one quite knows why Shane Watson hesitated for the second, when a run was clearly on. Also, a lot of fans believe that the timing of the Watson run out was perfect to get in more viewers and to make the more interesting than it should have been in the first place.
