WATCH: Ben Dwarshuis bowls destructive beamer to Glenn Maxwell in BBL 2019-20

Ben Dwarshuis bowls destructive beamer to Glenn Maxwell: The Sixers’ fast bowler bowled a ferocious delivery to the Stars’ captain.

During the 45th match of the ongoing ninth season of the Big Bash League between Sydney Sixers and Melbourne Stars in Sydney, Sydney Sixers fast bowler Ben Dwarshuis bowled a destructive beamer to Melbourne Stars captain Glenn Maxwell.

It all happened on what would have been the last delivery of the 10th over when Dwarshuis’ attempt of bowling a yorker to Maxwell saw him bowling a ferocious full-toss which hit the batsman in the chest.

Having realized the mistake that he made, the left-arm pacer immediately apologized to Maxwell who was being helped to get up by other Sixers’ fielders.

In what was only the second delivery that he faced, it was that kind of a day for Maxwell who couldn’t press the accelerator despite his team needing 63 runs off 26 balls when he came out to bat. The 31-year old player scored 12 (13) including two fours before getting out to Sixers pacer Tom Curran in the last over.

Chasing a 147-run target in 14 overs, opening batsman Marcus Stoinis’ quickfire 62 (37) with the help of three fours and four sixes couldn’t rescue his team today. Having registered bowling figures of 3-1-20-2, Dwarshuis was the pick of the bowlers for the home team.

After Maxwell won the toss and invited Sydney in to bat, a 114-run partnership for the third wicket between James Vince (41*) and Moises Henriques saw them scoring 143/4 in 14 overs. Before getting out in the last over, Henriques scored his 18th T20 half-century, 72 (31), with the help of two fours and eight sixes.
