Sergio Ramos and Florentino Perez involved in dressing room row after loss to Ajax

Real Madrid succumbed to a painful loss against a young Ajax team at the Bernabeu in the second leg of the Champions League round of 16.

Riding on a 2-1 advantage, the Los Blancos were expected to wrap the fixture up at home, but instead were dished out a good hammering in front of their own fans.

Sergio Ramos had allegedly taken a strategic yellow card for the 2nd leg, a move that came to bite him and his team, as they were schooled by a well-oiled Ajax side.

Post the thumping 4-1 loss, the Real Madrid players were absolutely distraught, as the team had won 3 UCL titles in the last 3 years.

A team that prides itself on its record in Europe, Real Madrid will need to figure out what went wrong against a team that they should have beaten.

The loss led to a heated argument in the dressing room, one in which Sergio Ramos and Florentino Perez exchanged some harsh words.

As the players returned to the locker room post the loss, Florentino Perez was ready to give them a good rollicking, for having put up a show that just wasn’t acceptable to the Real Madrid president.

The Madrid players seemed short on intensity in the game and Perez did not waste time in pointing out.

He went onto label the display as ‘disgraceful’ and that did not go down well with Sergio Ramos, who then hit back with a rant of his own.

He told the Real Madrid President to pay him up and let him leave, as he wasn’t ready to here about the players not giving their 100% for the club.

“Pay me up and I’ll go” Sergio Ramos said.

“I’ve given everything and busted a gut for this badge, for this club and even for you”. he added.

According to reports in the AS, Florentino Perez had a long meeting with his board about a managerial appointment, and it has been rumored that Jose Mourinho could be back at the helm of the affairs at Madrid.

Do you think Ramos would leave Real Madrid after the end of the season?
