Dhoni and Kohli ride the segway

Dhoni and Kohli ride the segway: The Indian cricketers were seen riding the segway after the first ODI at Napier.

The Indian cricket team continued their winning momentum across the Tasman sea as they registered a comprehensive 8-wicket victory against New Zealand in the first ODI at Napier yesterday. The victory set the tone for the visitors for the full tour, which comprises of five ODIs and three T20Is.

While the hosts will be looking to stage a solid comeback in the second ODI at Mount Maunganui, India will look to take a brilliant 2-0 lead to put the Kiwis in a do-or-die situation on Monday at the same venue.

Among the positives for India were the individual bowling performances of fast bowler Mohammed Shami (6-2-19-3) and chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav (10-1-39-4). Shami winning the ‘Man of the Match’ award after nearly four years speak highly about his resurgence as an ODI bowler.

Lauding the efforts of his fast bowler who made early inroads in the first ODI during the post-match presentation ceremony, India captain Virat Kohli said that his belief in his own abilities is the key behind his recent success.

Post winning the match, India’s two biggest contemporary names in Kohli and wicket-keeper batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni were witnessed enjoying in an unusual manner. The duo tried their hands at the segway – a two-wheeled, self-balancing personal transporter.

Their video was posted across the social media handles of BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India). The video went viral within no time for it gave the fans a sneak into the funny side of the two most worshiped cricketers in India at the moment.

It was Dhoni who rode the segway first. The 37-year old cricketer was his usual calm self, watched as enjoying the ride. However, Kohli looked more animated during his rise, trying various dance steps as well. Watch the full video below:
