Spa has once again produced one of the craziest and scariest crash sequence, with Hulkenberg locking up going into turn 1 and crashing into the back of Alonso.
Alonso’s car then went air borne, going over Charles Leclerc, thereby damaging his car and the rear wing of Ricciardo.
The incident was extremely scary, as Alonso’s rising up in the air could have gone anywhere and could have taken off any other car.
As far as Leclerc is concerned, the Halo saved him big time, as Alonso’s car had gone over the top of his, and would have impacted him, if not for the Halo.
Seems Halo has done its job. Wow.

Following the incident on Turn 1, the safety car was on and almost ever driver that suffered some damage went into the pit lane.
But, Vettel overtook Hamilton just in time before the safety car to take the lead of the grand prix.
At the restart, Vettel was carefully pacing his move, keeping everyone at the back guessing.
The German did manage to maintain the lead and is currently leading the pack, with Verstappen making strong moves to get to the top.

Also, Raikkonen suffered a puncture with Ricciardo ramming into his back. But, Ricciardo had some damage to his rear wing as well.
The first lap chaos thus meant that 4 drivers were knocked out of the race; Alonso, Leclerc, Hulkenberg and Raikkonen.
