Raikkonen exposes 16 day drinking bender

Kimi Raikkonen’s book is going to reveal some very interesting stories about the Finn, stuff that hasn’t been out in the public yet.

The book has already been released in Finnish and Swedish and will be released in English on October 18.

Kimi has been known for his party lifestyle during his early F1 days, one’s where he used to go all out with his buddies and just go crazy on alcohol.

However, this incident is about Kimi going on a  day drinking bender in 2012, when he drank for 16 straight days in the time between two grand prix(Bahrain and Spain). He finished on the podium in Spain

While, Kimi is known to be able to consume high amounts of alcohol, a 16 day drinking marathon is a little too much for any ‘common man’. But then again, Kimi isn’t your run of the mill person/driver.

Kimi admitted to this in his biography, along with some really spicy and funny stories about his drunken escapades.

Nico Hulkenberg was asked if such a drinking spree could still exist in the sport, keeping the demands of today’s times, to which he replied ‘why not’?

“It depends on the driving talent.

“But generally, why not? It may even help. Alcohol helps some people to loosen up.” Hulkenberg said, as quoted by Bild.

Hopefully Hulkenberg did not quite follow the Kimi routine during the summer break, because his performance at the Belgian GP could then come under serious scrutiny; especially after having crashed into Alonso.

Kimi Raikkonen would now be hoping to put up a strong show throughout the rest of the season for Ferrari before moving back to his boyhood team Sauber from 2019.
