Ireland and the West Indies played a thriller game in the recent ODI match between the two sides. The fortunes of both teams were lurking like a pendulum before the match finally ended.
Ireland gave a low score target of 238 runs to West Indies, but the hosts were not at their best level and kept losing wickets in the while, but the partnership of Nicholas Pooran and Kieran Pollard gave them the balance required to chase the score but still it was a long way to go.
From here the match took a dramatic turn, in the last over when 5 runs were required with one wicket to spare. On the third ball of this over, there seemed as if there was a run-out.
It appeared as if Ireland won the game but the third umpire gave the decision in favour of the hosts due to inconclusive evidence. Next ball, Cottrell gets abandoned running for a second and slips.
But once again, Ireland throws the game away, with a poor throw and fumble allowing him to get back safely. On the penultimate delivery, Sheldon Cottrell wrapped things up with a huge six. Hayden Walsh remained unbeaten on 46 off 67 balls.

The Irish players were left in disbelief as they lost the match with such a slight error. On the other hand, this dramatic win by the West Indies gave them a 2 game lead over Ireland in the 3-match long ODI series.
Despite the win, it was a poor performance by West Indies, as their top order got vanished after the first 24 runs and in the first 10 overs, the Windies were able to only score 233 runs on the board.
Nevertheless a dramatic match in the coast of Carribean Islands, with West Indies preventing an upset at home, but the match still manage to trend on the social media.
