Juan Mata hasn’t quite enjoyed a lot of game time this season, with Jose often opting for Rashford or Mkhitaryan ahead of him. But with Mikhi falling out of favour, Mata has found a role in the last few weeks, which he has been relishing to a large extent.
Manchester United were playing promising football tonight, but that Leicester counter attack put them on the back foot.
The response though was great, as Lingard teed up Mata for the first goal and United went into the break on level terms.
The second half started on an even brighter note for United, with Martial, Lingard and Mata linking up beautifully up front.
Martial then ended up winning a free kick, just outside the penalty box, giving Mata the perfect angle to take aim from.
Mata gleefully stepped up and bent one into the corner, unleashing a freekick with a lot of dip to beat the diving Schmeichel.
