Pogba could equal Ronaldo's record

Pogba could equal Ronaldo’s record: Manchester United will take on Rafael Benitez’s Newcastle United later tonight.

Manchester United will face Newcastle United later tonight in the Premier League. The side will aim to register their fourth successive victory in the league and reduce the gap with fifth-placed Arsenal.

Manchester United have been in brilliant form ever since the arrival of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the side, as the club has scored 12 goals in their last three league games – equivalent to more than 29% of their goals in the league this season.

Paul Pogba has been in brilliant form under Solskjaer, as the midfielder has been involved in seven goals, scoring four. He bagged a brace in his last two games.

As Manchester United lines up against Newcastle United tonight in the league, Paul Pogba could equal Cristiano Ronaldo’s record at the club.

Pogba could equal Ronaldo’s record:

Cristiano Ronaldo has one of the most decorated footballers at Manchester United. The forward spent six seasons at the club, and won multiple individual and club honours at Manchester United.

However, Paul Pogba now has a great chance to equal Ronaldo’s record, which he set in the 2006/07 season.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored a brace in three consecutive games for Manchester United, against Aston Villa, Wigan Athletic and Reading. Having scored a brace in two successive games already, Paul Pogba could fancy his chances to equal the record set by the Portuguese forward.

Paul Pogba could become the only second Manchester United player to reach the record.

The French midfielder has had a difficult start to the season at Manchester United, as a fall-out in the relationship with Jose Mourinho led to a series of controversies.

The situation became worse after the duo was caught arguing during a training session, following a stunning defeat against lower-league side Derby County in the Carabao Cup.

However, the arrival of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer rejuvenated the Manchester United side, as the Norwegian brought the attacking style of football back to Old Trafford.

What next?

Manchester United has a chance to bridge the gap with Arsenal to three points with a win against Newcastle tonight.
