Kohli & Jadeja race towards the ball

Kohli & Jadeja race towards the ball: The Indian captain and star all-rounder were involved in a race during the fourth ODI vs Windies.

During the fourth match of the ongoing Windies’ tour of India at Mumbai, India captain Virat Kohli and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja were involved in a race to prevent the ball from reaching the boundary.

While Jadeja put in a slide to stop the ball and deflect it back to Kohli, the captain threw it back to wicket-keeper Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

It happened on the fourth ball of the Windies’ innings when Chanderpaul Hemraj pushed a Bhuvneshwar Kumar delivery through the covers towards the boundary. Watch the full video:

Chasing a 378-run target, Windies succumbed to pressure after being reduced from 20-0 to 20-3 within an over. No significant partnership throughout their innings saw them being bundled out for 153 in the 37th over.

Khaleel Ahmed, who was picked as the third pacer in the side, registered impressive bowling figures of 5-0-13-3 as he ran through the opposition’s middle-order. With bowling figures of 8.2-0-42-3, Kuldeep Yadav made sure Windies’ tail didn’t wag long.

Earlier in the day, after Kohli won the toss and chose to bat, Rohit Sharma and Ambati Rayudu made optimum use of the batting wicket as both of them scored their 21st and third ODI century respectively.

With Rayudu became the first Indian batsman to score an ODI century at No. 4 in the last 22 months, he has all but confirmed his spot at No. 4 for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. Impressed with Rayudu’s maturity with the bat, during the post-match presentation ceremony captain Kohli had said that the team management will have to back him till the World Cup.
