Watch: Lionel Messi tears it up in Barcelona’s practice session on his return from injury

Watch: Lionel Messi tears it up in Barcelona’s practice session on his return from injury. He will likely feature in the game against Real Betis this Sunday.

Barcelona began their La Liga campaign last week with a loss. Not only did they concede a goal in the 89th minute to lose the match, they also left the pitch with two of their top stars in Luis Suarez and Ousmane Dembele injured.

Worrying as it was last week, they now have some good news ahead of their next match this Sunday. Their talisman Lionel Messi has recovered from his injury and has already started training with the team. A video released by Barcelona on their twitter handle shows that the Argentine hasn’t missed a beat and is already looking at his terrorizing best.

Real Betis, Barcelona’s next opponent, have taken note of Messi’s return and have jokingly urged the magician to not force his return. They have retweeted a picture of him in training, with the caption, “Don’t hurry, Leo. You don’t have to force it.”

In their match against Athletic Bilbao, Barcelona enjoyed 72% of the possession. However, they fared very poorly when it came to finishing. With Lionel Messi, they will now hope to convert more chances. Messi was a carnage last season and was instrumental in Barcelona becoming Spanish Champions.

The Bluagrana are looking to win the Spanish top-flight for a 3rd year in a row. The Catalonian club will be looking towards the Argentine to replicate his performance from last season and carry them to another season of glory.

If this video is anything to go by, then it is very likely that Messi will continue to terrorise defenders this season as well. However, considering he missed all of their pre-season and is just returning from injury, he may not play the whole 90 minutes this Sunday. Instead he will look to get his match fitness back as he and the club will prioritise the long season ahead.
