Watch: Manchester United fan makes a video mocking Romelu Lukaku following his exit to Italian club Inter Milan
Romelu Lukaku is expected to end his relationship with Manchester United soon. The Belgian has been looking for a way out of the club ever since it became evident that Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer preferred Marcus Rashford ahead of him.
Despite claiming that he would remain silent over his future out of respect of the fans, Lukaku has constantly flirted with the idea of leaving. He declared that Inter Milan Manager, Antonio Conte was the best coach in the world. This was out of the blue as the two have never worked together before.
Lukaku’s defiance
Antonio Conte is a big fan of the Belgian Brute and pressured his club to make a purchase. However, Inter Milan fell short of United’s valuation of the striker. Soon talks opened with Juventus. A possible swap deal involving him and Paulo Dybala was discussed. Nothing came out of it though. Dybala’s reluctance to join United and complications over his image rights proved to be huge stumbling blocks.
Lukaku was seen training in Belgium with Anderlecht’s U-18 team in what seemed to be a tantrum over not being shifted out yet. Later it emerged that, this was done as a protest out of Solskjaer demanding he train with United’s U-23 and to stay away from the side. A possible reason for the exile was Lukaku leaking private club data onto his social media account.
The Guardian reported last night that Manchester United had come to terms with Inter Milan over Lukaku’s transfer. In the end both Conte and Lukaku have got what they originally wanted. However, the way in which the entire deal has transpired has left a bitter taste in the mouth of some fans. As is evident by the video made below.
